BEN BOWER was a 19th century coachman of distinction, who worked the Nottingham - Newark run and boasted of having travelled to far-off lands, hence the connection with international cuisine and the flavours of four continents.
Set in an imposing Victorian building just 10 minutes walk from the city centre, Ben Bowers opened its doors in 1973 and is still run by the original owner who has constantly upgraded and kept abreast of the times, by continuing to offer excellent contemporary cuisine, served in classic surroundings.
A great venue for all occasions, from an intimate candlelit dinner for two to a great party night out for parties, up to a fully fledged banquet for 60, Ben Bowers enjoys an excellent reputation for fresh original dishes and really friendly service. The Managements democratic approach results in staff actually showing that they enjoy working there !
A very relaxed atmosphere is complimented by attentive, friendly service and the ambiance is completed by chilled-out Jazz piano. Classical guitar features Tuesday and Saturday
