The Golden Cross is a family run bar and restaurant. The proprietor, John Murray, has striven to combine tradition with modern day aspirations. So, expect the obvious – Herefordshire Ciders, Traditional Ales, Locally sourced produce. And, the less obvious - fantastic bar and restaurant areas!
Those of you familiar with the Golden Cross of old will, like those visiting for the first time, enter what appears to be a small village pub, only to discover you’ve entered a real life “Tardis” as the pub opens out before your eyes.
2004 saw the completion of what amounted to a virtual gutting & rebuild of the pub – leaving a “WOW” factor in its wake!
Everyone, old & young, able & less able, are catered for, with disabled toilets & baby changing facilities on the ground floor.
The Restaurant is situated on the first floor. Spacious and away from the bustle of the Bar, it is furnished with natural materials, soft colours and traditional (original – not replica) memrobelia.
Our a la Carte menu is always mouth-watering and affordable, changing on a regular basis to reflect the seasons.
Our Char-grill menu uses only the best Herefordshire Beef to make your mouth water. We never neglect our Vegetarian friends – if our menu offering isn’t quite to your liking, tell us what you would like – if we can oblige, we will!
