Masala World seeks to create restaurants with real Indian cuisine from the many regions of India in an appealing ambience with friendly hospitable service.
Masala World has won the Restaurateur of the Year Award in the high-profile Tatler Restaurant Awards. The restaurant group serves over 800,000 customers a year. It uniquely spans both fine dining and casual dining restaurants serving real Indian cuisines.
The Promoter Directors of Masala World are Mr Ranjit Mathrani (a former senior investment banker), Ms Namita Panjabi and Ms Camellia Panjabi - a leading world authority on Indian food.
The casual dining restaurants are under the Masala Zone banner and were launched in 2001. They combine real Indian food at honest prices with casual style. Each Masala Zone restaurant has its own unique ambience, combined with the same Indian food and friendly service.
There are currently five Masala Zone restaurants all in London – Covent Garden, Soho, Earls Court, Camden Town and Islington - all creating genuine Indian tastes.
New Masala Zone restaurants will be opening in London - in Fulham and Bayswater in late summer 2008. More Masala Zone restaurant in London will follow steadily, all providing authentic Indian flavours.
Their dishes are from the homes of regional gourmet families, Maharajas' palaces, and humble wayside stalls where the best Indian food in India is found.
The specialities are from many diverse regional cuisines of India – a continent with 16 different languages and cultures.
All our restaurants employ Indian regional specialist chefs, recruited directly from different regions of India, creating their own specialities.
These dishes are prepared authentically, as in Indian homes, and no short cuts are taken.
