From the minute you walk through the door you can experience the traditional yet modern bar and restaurant which serves wonderful food, ales and wine. Situated in the heart of West Dorset, The Poachers Inn is the perfect place to explore some of the local area. Close to the spectacular World Heritage Jurassic Coast, miles of unspolit beautiful countryside, lots of attractions and the towns of Dorchester, Weymouth, Salisbury and Poole are all an easy drive away.
Owners Nigel Tancock and Sarah Harris are hands-on in every way, sharing their passion and energy with the committed staff.

We are passionate about using the finest local ingredients with meat, fish, game, bread and cheeses from local suppliers. Our wine list features wines from all over the world. and our house wines are excellent quality and value. We always have 3 real ales available in addition to keg beers and lagers.
The ambience is informal and casual. There is an extensive bar menu which can be enjoyed in our decked areas around the pool or inside. In the evening you can dine alfresco or indoors in our 17th Century restaurant.
Our chefs are happy to adapt the menu to suit special dietary requirements.
We are open to residents and non-residents for all meals, on every day of the year - breakfast, lunch, light lunches, morning coffee, afternoon tea, dinner... or just come in and have a look around!
