In the 19th century this beautiful property was the family home of Benjamin Williams Leader, the artist whose painting "February Fill Dyke" is often used to illustrate Christmas cards. The city of Worcester boasts Roman origins, the Cathedral, which dates from Norman times is the burial place of King John, and later the city was the headquarters of King Charles II in the Civil War and the final battle was fought in 1651, an arrow's flight from the hotel.
A few minutes away on foot is the Royal Worcester Porcelain factory with Museum and shop, the Cathedral the County Cricket Ground, Racecourse and shopping centre.
