A Very Warm Welcome to The Woolpack Inn
This traditional country Inn is perfectly located just 11 miles south of Bath, and 3 miles from Frome. A visit or stay at The Woolpack Inn provides you with the perfect base to explore the surrounding areas.
Our name says a great deal about Beckington's history. Beckington achieved importance and prosperity in the middle ages as a result of the wool trade. By the time The Woolpack began its life as a coaching inn in the 1500s, fulling mills were established all along the banks of the River Frome and the cottage industry of spinning and weaving was thriving.
With its large roaring fire burning throughout the winter and its courtyard garden to delight you from the spring onwards, The Woolpack Inn offers you a warm welcome and a stay that has a touch of luxury.
The main area on the ground floor is divided into the bar, with its stone floor, open log fire and fine traditional ale and the two dining areas. Together with the Oak room and Garden room, this is an ideal place for a quick snack or that special meal. With freshly prepared dishes to include game from the local shoot, fish delivered daily from Brixham, skilfully cooked by our talented kitchen team.
Both dining areas can be adapted to meet the needs for private functions and weddings.
We offer 11 en-suite bedrooms, including one four poster room, one feature room and one large family room, all of which are tastefully furnished.

Three nights Christmas Breaks

Christmas Eve
Arrive any time after 2pm for a very warm welcome, and settle into your comfortable en-suite bedroom. Unpack, relax and take a leisurely walk if the weather allows – or have a drive around
the immediate area.
A candlelit two-course dinner will be served in the restaurant between 6pm and 9pm.
Midnight Mass – local details are available at reception for guests wishing to attend.
Christmas Day
Start the day with our delicious home-cooked breakfast: fresh fruit, cereals, croissants or Danish pastries, followed by a full traditional English breakfast.
During the morning there will be plenty of time to relax and unwrap your presents before we serve your Christmas lunch from 12 noon!
In the evening our Chef will prepare a tempting buffet, served in the restaurant between 6pm and 9pm.
Boxing Day
A hearty breakfast will be served to prepare you for your journey home. Why not extend your stay with us and enjoy a delicious Boxing Day lunch before you go – or even join us for
an extra night?
Our three-night packages include all of the above, plus lunch, dinner and overnight accommodation on Boxing Day with a full English breakfast on 27th December.
