The History of the Saracens Head, stretching back more than four hundred years, is featured in Charles Dickens' first novel, 'The Pickwick Papers, currently blends into the atmosphere and splendour of this restored hotel.
The Saracens Head Hotel is today the centrepiece of modern life in Towcester, as it has been for centuries.
The same homely comforts which were enjoyed by Charles Dickens when visiting Towcester have been restored and blended with todays luxury. The continuing story of this hotel proudly offers excellent standards of comfort and service to the discerning guest.
We now serve food all day throughout the lounge and bar areas. From traditional favourites such as fish and chips or steaks – to something a little different, there’s sure to be something to take your fancy.
The Lounge Bar welcomes locals and visitors to relax over a glass as they have done for hundreds of years. The split level bar offers three distinct areas of relaxation where delicious snacks are available.
The Saracens Head Hotel is also the perfect venue for both conferences and weddings, with function suites for up to 100 guests.
Our 21 en-suite bedrooms are situated on two floors.
Situated on the Roman Watling Street, the Saracen's Head is ideally placed for a day at Towcester Racecourse, generally accepted as the toughest National Hunt course in Britain. Silverstone, for racing of a different kind, is just three miles away. Also nearby is Stoke Bruerne, a canal village with cottages and colourful narrow boats.

Three nights Christmas Breaks

Christmas Eve
Arrive any time after 2pm for a very warm welcome, and settle into your comfortable en-suite bedroom. Unpack, relax and take a leisurely walk if the weather allows – or have a drive around
the immediate area.
A candlelit two-course dinner will be served in the restaurant between 6pm and 9pm.
Midnight Mass – local details are available at reception for guests wishing to attend.
Christmas Day
Start the day with our delicious home-cooked breakfast: fresh fruit, cereals, croissants or Danish pastries, followed by a full traditional English breakfast.
During the morning there will be plenty of time to relax and unwrap your presents before we serve your Christmas lunch from 12 noon!
In the evening our Chef will prepare a tempting buffet, served in the restaurant between 6pm and 9pm.
Boxing Day
A hearty breakfast will be served to prepare you for your journey home. Why not extend your stay with us and enjoy a delicious Boxing Day lunch before you go – or even join us for
an extra night?
Our three-night packages include all of the above, plus lunch, dinner and overnight accommodation on Boxing Day with a full English breakfast on 27th December.
