The Kings Head is an imposing 200 year old Hotel, standing right on the town square, in the heart of the local community and the beautiful town of Wimborne Minster. Step off the High Street into Laing’s Bar and sink into the sofas while enjoying a cappuccino and a pastry. Our restaurant offers an extensive menu with food served all day, from classic favourites to more indulgent choices, all at great value.
The original building circa 1800s was owned by and known as The Laing's Hotel until the turn of the century, when another floor was added to make it into the centrepiece of the town square that it is today, dedicated now to Henry VII.
Location is key and with Poole being just 20 minutes away, and Bournemouth and Southampton just half an hour’s drive, access couldn’t be easier.
The hotel boasts 27 en-suite bedrooms, all traditionally decorated and furnished to a high standard. Our function suite, The Minster Room provides the perfect venue for business meetings, private dining and wedding receptions.
The ground floor underwent a major refurbishment in 2007, giving it a contemporary feel but retaining its traditional ambience.
With its high ceilings and large windows, sofas and comfortable armchairs, the Kings Head has a light elegant airy feel, reminiscent of a bygone era. There are lots of old photographs, some over one hundred years old, of the hotel, its development and of the old town, all adding to the feel and quality of this lovely building.
The hotel has ample on-site free car parking for hotel guests and residents. Our lift facility and wheelchair access makes the hotel is easily accessible to the disabled.

Three nights Christmas Breaks

Christmas Eve
Arrive any time after 2pm for a very warm welcome, and settle into your comfortable en-suite bedroom. Unpack, relax and take a leisurely walk if the weather allows – or have a drive around
the immediate area.
A candlelit two-course dinner will be served in the restaurant between 6pm and 9pm.
Midnight Mass – local details are available at reception for guests wishing to attend.
Christmas Day
Start the day with our delicious home-cooked breakfast: fresh fruit, cereals, croissants or Danish pastries, followed by a full traditional English breakfast.
During the morning there will be plenty of time to relax and unwrap your presents before we serve your Christmas lunch from 12 noon!
In the evening our Chef will prepare a tempting buffet, served in the restaurant between 6pm and 9pm.
Boxing Day
A hearty breakfast will be served to prepare you for your journey home. Why not extend your stay with us and enjoy a delicious Boxing Day lunch before you go – or even join us for
an extra night?
Our three-night packages include all of the above, plus lunch, dinner and overnight accommodation on Boxing Day with a full English breakfast on 27th December.
